Connectivity

Situated on the junction of three rail systems, carriers have occupied the Union Station since 1987. The building is outfitted with 13 entrance paths for cable and fiber in order to meet the diverse needs of the carriers as well as take advantage of the high density of fiber optic that runs through the South Bend, IN area.

The carriers have a total of 24 separate fiber bundles, each between 48 and 288 fibers, entering the building. As part of the build-out as a carrier hotel, Union Station has conduit banks which run the entire length of the building on 3 levels for ease of internal connectivity. The building features an active and passive ‘Meet Me Room’ for ease of carrier and customer interconnects.
